“Love is the feeling we have for those we care deeply about and hold in high regard. It can be light as the hug we give a friend or heavy as the sacrifices we make for our children. It can be romantic, platonic, familial, fleeting, everlasting, conditional, unconditional, imbued with sorrow, stoked by sex, sullied by abuse, amplified by kindness, twisted by betrayal, deepened by time, darkened by difficulty, leavened by generosity, nourished by humor, and loaded with promises and commitments that we may or may not want or keep. Practice saying the word ‘love’ to the people you love so when it matters the most to say it, you will.”

Today, tWitch passed away. He was a man I never knew in person but who I spent hours watching and admiring as a little girl. He was a hell of a dancer but more than that, his personality jumped off of the screen. With a smile like sunshine, he radiated with love. He killed himself. He left behind his mother, 3 children, and his wife of 9 years and I feel so gutted by this. I don’t know how to make sense of it. He was only 40 years old.

Today I’m reminded how fragile and precious life is. I need to spend less time moping, less time being irritated or tired. I need to embrace my life and the people in it because it could be irreversibly changed at any moment without warning. I’d like to be more appreciative, more gracious. I’d like to radiate with love as Twitch did. What a tragic loss, thank you for sharing your light with us, fly high angel.
